Well, things are finally looking better! We'll be here another week, but she is stable and on the uppity =) Scary to think what could have happened had I not acted as fast as I did. Those blood infections can turn on ya pretty quickly, especially on someone as frail as Tay with no immune system. We are on day 8 of a 14 day treatment and then they have to schedule the temp line removal and new port placement and probably a day or two after that is placed she can go home, YAYYYY! All her counts are looking good. Nephrology is monitoring her electrolytes and blood pressure. She's on 3 different blood pressure medications and still she runs high. They said they'll have her meds all tweaked out by the time she leaves, not to worry. I think I've averaged maybe 2 hours of sleep a night since we've been here. Last night I think it was more like ZERO! She had a pretty eventful night that even sent the Doctor in our room somewhere's around 3 AM. She's just stressed, pissed and uncomfortable. Her little heart rate gets going and .... =( She's been awake much of the day so I'm hoping 'tonight is the night of sleep'! But hey, to have her well and back home again, I could care less about my sleep. I'll do whatever it takes! Ohh, I put her little sock on her hand and secured it on with tape. That temp line of hers, once she got her zing back I was petrified she was going to yank it out. She tried a couple times. I was scared to even use the bathroom. Her little sock was laying on the bed so I slipped it on her hand and holy cow...it worked and she was ok with it! Not only does it prevent her from yanking that line out it also prevents her from getting at her head...AND she can still operate CD player!!! Sadly she can't suck her finger to lul herself to sleep, so that could be the reason for the grumpies (just now thought of that) 133/84 was her bp just now, much better but still higher than they want, darn! Well, the nurse also dropped off all her meds and pokes. It'll take me a good 2 hours to get them all through, she has sooo many, so I better get started. Love you! Gram will be here tomorrow =) ((((((HUGS)))))))) *******KISSES*******
